Lists are metal
Okay you stupid, inbred, socially maladjusted, emotional doods -- that is what we are, right? -- start thinking about what the greatest metal albums of all time are. To. You. I don't give a fuck what was influential, what sold the most, yabba dabba doo. I'm curious to see where you clowns get your kicks. I don't know, top 25 or so. Top 50, whatever floats your heavy metal boat. Start metalstorming and get ready to face the slayer.

1) Master of Puppets
2) Appetite for Destruction (only #2 because its just barely metal)
3) And Justice for All
4) Metal Health (only #4 because "Loves a Bitch" and "Slick Black Cadillac" are just terrible, terrible songs)
5) Too Fast for Love
6) Blizzard of Oz
Shit, that's an entire other can of worms, what is/isn't metal. I absolutely love Katatonia, but I wouldn't classify anything after Sounds of Decay as METAL.
Shit, part 2, this is harder than I had anticipated.
Double Platinum
any Maiden
any non-Bob Rock Metallica
any Megadeth before Hangar 18 and Symphony of Destruction
Among the Living, Reign in Blood
Appetite for Destruction (is definitely metal), 90% of Black Sabbath... this could take a while
That's what I mean, the list I come up with today might be different than tomorrow.
If I pick 13, 'cause that's evil, I'd have to go with:
Justice/Lightning/Puppets (yeah, I'm cheating)
Blackwater Park
Morningrise
Dirt
Turn Loose the Swans
Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Rust in Peace
Persistence of Time
De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Reign In Blood
Brave Murder Day
Morbid Tales
and about 27 more
1)Ounce, nightwish
2)Too Fast for Love
3)pardise lost
ya all over the place:)
I'm going to go with hardcore, since no one has brought it up. And since this list is over a month old anyway, so no one will notice.
Jane Doe by Converge for more recent favorites (2001) (You Fail Me and No Heroes aren't bad either)
Earth Crisis's EPs All Out War and Firestorm, as well as the album Destroy the Machines
When I was young and dumb, I thought there was nothing harder than Satisfaction is the Death of Desire by Hatebreed. Now I realize that's because there is absolutely no melody anywhere on the album. Just crunch.
Also, Godflesh's Us and Them is a grindcore work of art (even though Justin Broadrick hates to be called grindcore).
Finally, this is not hardcore. In fact, it's almost goth. But, a long overlooked hidden gem of metal is Scenes from the Second Storey by the God Machine. If you have a way of picking it up, it's well worth it.
